We have a problem with our live performances.
As there is not always an available WLAN network live, we would like to run the VST Live Mods app via a mobile phone hotspot. Unfortunately this does not work. Mobile data is sent from the mobile phone to the laptop, but VST Live Mods simply ignores this. The time bar runs in the app, but no text appears. If we switch to our existing WLAN network, it works perfectly again. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanx!
The app is online and also starts the time bar when I press
start the programme on the laptop.
But that’s it…
the metronome does not run in time.
The notes and chords are not displayed either.
If I end the hotspot and use our home WLAN network, everything works fine. We have tried it with three different mobile phones/LTE as a hotspot. none of them work.
Yepp! Please please grab a wifi router (would personally suggest mikrotik or ubiquity, also they won’t complain to clients that no public-internet is avaiable) and set it to your GIG environment, e.g.: Name SSID like “Biwel72” set all params…. Fix this device to your gig-pack. Will love this solution much better, will worth the effort.
Also as VL is being developed, I’m sure there will be more and more features via the iOS app, therefore an own quality network will help a lot:)
I use a secured TP-Link access point on 5GHz band. Works fine for a ÂŁ25 box. Also carries my DMX which is wired into the AP.
Would not recommend using a phones own hotspot. I understand there is a limit to the number of devices that are allowed to connect this way.
If you look down the forum there are a number of reports of Lyrics not working properly, likely not a network problem per se, and is being investigated.
I took a fritz box 4040 and now the problem is solved. We are very happy that VST Live is available. An absolutely brilliant help for our live performances. We are already looking forward to the coming updates.
