Rosetta 2 is neither a an emulator nor a simulator - it translates an x86-64 executable into an Apple-Arm executable off-line - once the process has run Rosetta 2 is not involved again

I didn’t know that, so it’s not like a virtual machine/wrapper? (Which is what i presumed)

It recompiles/translates the binary to run native ARM? Is that for sure?

Yes, there’s a translation step. That’s why it takes longer to launch the first time. I believe there is also some runtime processing though.
