m4a in Cubase Pro 9 on OSX 10.11.6

Is it normal behaviour that I cannot drag files in m4a-format into a project?

I use an iPhone frequently as mini voice recorder frequntly and would like an easy way to get them into Cubase. With m4a being a native file format on OSX, I don’t see why this should not work.

Thanx for any helpful input!

Yes it’s normal. Just use a recorder on your iphone that makes mp3s or another universal format.

Thanx for responding!! I don’t get, that that’s actually a missing feature… I don’t really fancy another app that I have to figure out how to sync properly alongside my other music/media players

Every feature that is not in an application is missing from it.

Don’t know if it works, but try importing as video file.
