I used this function a lot on the PC but on the Mac it is broken, and it’s worse during playback.
Repro:
hold the middle mouse button on any of the edit pages (arranger, key edit) and drag left or right to navigate; often (and especially on larger drags) the window’s scroll position will snap back to its original position instead of allowing itself to be dragged towards a new location when the middle button is released.
This is worse during playback, where auto scroll won’t be automatically disabled and the window will continue to snap back to the playhead position.
