Mac os 13, c14.0.20 updated, cursor seems odd when audio tracks are playing, vs stopped

When the 20+audio tracks ( no midi tracks used), from a live show, (24 bit 48kHz) are playing the cursor advanced features that I’m used to for many previous versions have stopped working.
I used to be able to click anywhere and the cursor would immediately go there.
I edit audio for use with video for bands.
I jump around a lot in the beginning stages to setup markers (start of song to end).
The audio is non-stop 90 minutes, that I have to use markers to mark off each song from the concert.

The cursor returns to normal when the audio playback is stopped.

This seems like a new behavior with 14 (I started with 14.0.20, never having used Ver 14 till now, so I can’t say if it’s the .20 update or not)
I went from V13 to V14.0.20

Is there something wrong with the cursor?

ALSO

The volume on the speaker icon/tool for checking out a single track is terribly low in volume
Is there a way to turn the volume up for that tool.

Hi,

Preferences > Transport > Locate when Clicked in Empty Space.

Change the MediaBay Preview Volume. It’s the same one.
