Mac OS «No device found» problem

Hello. I have a Mac Mini M4 and Steinberg UR22c. I was intalled all software (control panel and dspmix) and got a message in dspmix that «No device found», but I can see it in the audio settings of the OS. Any solution for it?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I’m no expert on Macs but usually this has something to do with an “Allow microphone access” setting to do in your OS if I’m not mistaken. If you search this forum in this direction you will definetly find further info.

Good luck!

It’s not asks any permession.

Yes, I found this with MacOS. No permission complaint shows anywhere, nonetheless the manual application of a permission is required.

Also, sometimes after MacOS updates itself, it stops working again and I have to go and re-apply the permission. The only clue is the Device Not Found message in the dspMx software.

Tucked away under the MacOS Control Panel | Privacy & Security | Screen & System Audio Recording, check that dspMixFx_UR-C is enabled.

If it is not there, add it with the “+”.

HTH!

Hi, thank you for your reply. I was added permession but it doesn’t solve the problem. Any othe ideas?

Sorry, that is the only trick I know! I found a few suggestions that may be worth checking here: Reddit - The heart of the internet

I find a solution in this topic:

It’s so shame that I really need to use recovery mod on Mac to make working a simple software from famous corporation like Yamaha. I had no problem with it on windows at all.

Gosh, that is an extreme kind of fix. I wonder what caused your system to be in the state that it needed this fix? I’ve not seen an issue on my (frequently changing) Mac system with various UR devices over the last five years that couldn’t be fixed by the simple Sec/Privacy permission flip.
