Mac OS X vs. PC Windows. which one is more efficient for producing with Cubase (or in general)?

Hi raz,

I would say it is very dependent on hardware as well.

I have both OS’s but on different hardware (Xeon on Mac with OS X Yosemite and I7 on PC on Win 10), so it’s difficult to say, but in my opinion the VST is better performing on a windows platform than on the Mac OS.

Just to let you know, I am now fully up and running and the performance is incredible in Win 10 (I have tweaked it for performance).

I run Cubase 8.0.40 on a PC with Win 10 Home (Asus Z170-A, SSD, 32Gb CL 13 DDR4 RAM, i7 6700K processor etc.)
I have Cubase 8.5.2 as well, but it crashes from time to time.

Over VePRO (Ethernet) I have my old MacPro (2013 - 2x Xeon processor-12cores, 48Gb, SSD drives for sample libraries ) running as a slave - so all Kontakt libraries, Play libraries, Spectrasonics are on that machine and pushing the audio back my Cubase rig!

The performance is awesome , responding fast, and very rock solid
