macOS bug: Cubase opens in small window when Interface Scaling is turned on

Each time I open a template or project in Cubase 15 Pro on macOS, it opens smaller than the actual screen. See screenshot. It doesn’t help to resize the window and save the template. It keeps the wrong window size. Is this a bug?

Hi,

Probably your template project was stopped with this window size.

Resizing and saving the template again doesn’t help. :frowning:

Are you able to quit Cubase without it crashing? Do you usually get a message when starting Cubase that previously Cubase did not shut down correctly?

Yes.

No.

Actually ALL my projects start in a small window. Even projects that are 3 years old. So the project or template file is definitely not the cause of this.

It must a configuration problem in Cubase. So what configuration causes Cubase to open even old projects in a small window???

Maybe I should reset the whole Cubase configuration? But this would mean a lot of work because I changed a lot of icon menus etc.

Can it be a setting in:
Prefernces/General/open project in last user view?

Thanks, setting it to “Never” worked as a workaround for the old projects that were getting smaller and smaller. But it didn’t work for the template. I save the template with a large window, immediately open it again and it’s small. So weird…

To me this looks like another Cubase bug, but I seem to be the only one that has this problem?

Does anybody else experience Cubase windows opening in the wrong size???

Well,…I would rather use “allways” than “never”. That should give you the view you previously had.

No, it doesn’t. At least for me on macOS. That’s what this thread is all about. There seems to be a bug that makes the windows smaller since Cubase 15.

Up to now it seems that I’m the only one that has this problem. So I’ll have to reset my whole Cubase configuration I guess.:frowning:

I have this problem, too. It is exacerbated by using interface scaling in preferences (I was using scaling of +25%). I stopped using the interface scaling feature, and eventually Cubase stopped shrinking the window.

Just to add, I would prefer to be able to use interface scaling without this issue.

Thanks, that solved my problem, too! So we have another macOS bug! I think, Steinberg should do better QA on macOS. This was the second problem I asked about in the forum that turned out to be a macOS specific bug.

I added the feature-request tag.
