macOS "Control" modifier prevent shortcuts to work

Hi,

In macOS, the Control key with a left click on the mouse acts as a right-click. I realize that when I try to use some functions with “Editing - Tool modifier”, everything I configure using the control key doesn’t really work. It’s quite annoying, is there any trick to make the Control key work as intended?

Thanks

I’ve took a screen capture of the behavior. Mac users, what is your workaround?

Thanks!

Do you have “Preferences-Editing-Tools-Show Toolbox on Right-Click” check marked?

I’m not sure if I’ve understood you correctly, or what is supposed to work and how. Therefore see screenshots of what happens for me and what is ok for me.
If the check mark is set,

the tool menu appears with a right click.

And with Control plus left click the “big” menu.

If there is no check mark, the tool menu appears with the control key and left-click. And with a right click the “big” menu appears.

I’ve tried to disable it by I have the same behavior…

Thanks!

The problem is that when I try to use functions with the modifier key, like adjust the velocity of a note (the modifier key assigned to it is Control-Shift Click), the toolbox open instead of doing the function. It’s the same for all functions using the Control modifier key.

Thanks!

yes because you use Ctrl, that is to be expected. I you would change the modifier key to Option-Shift click (on Mac, Alt in Windows) than it should work as expected.

Yeah, I understand this, I find that with one modifier key I can’t use, it limits the use of many necessary functions. I was wondering if there was a way to bypass the OS usage of the Control key.

Thanks for your input!
