Very disappointed with how difficult it has been to upgrade from pro 14 to 15.
First problem was with the audio driver for the ur44.
I could not open a project as it would complain the the audio driver was disconnected. Long story short I had to reset permissions for the app using tccutil.
I’ve been using cubase since v3 and have worked in IT for around the same time.
You can understand new users getting a bit lost when they make a start, but this sort of technical requirement just to open a project is ridiculous.
Secondly trying to open midi editor in a separate windows does not work.
Clicking open in separate window from the lower zone does nothing.
Setting a key combination for open key editor in window, does nothing.
This seems to be a new problem from my angle, works fine in <=14 not 15.30 at least.
I only get so much time to be able to dedicate to music, and it pisses me off that I need to re-invest so much time just to get the basic functionality working.
Can’t believe I paid for this experience…
The editor window “bug” expanded to an instrument window not showing and was traced back to be a displayLink driver mismatch. Fixed with the latest displayLink Driver. Apologies to Steinberg for incorrectly laying the blame squarely on that one… ur44 is pretty old now, deep breath. Fingers crossed it’s all creative zen from here!
It’s a MacOS security feature which affects Cubase–not a “technical requirement” imposed by Steinberg.
