This may not be the place for me but until I can upgrade my computer I need to stick with Finale. Can anyone guide me to a place where I can ask for help with technical issues with Finale until I can finally make the transition?

I wouldn’t bother with MakeMusic’s own “help desk” forum, which is pretty dead. The Finale Forum, linked above is your best bet; though I dare say you could ask here, as there are plenty of ex-Finale users here.
In the meantime - what are the specs of your computer?

I don’t know my computer specs off hand but those who are much more tech savvy than me showed me what I need and my economy version HP isn’t close.

So the Finale problem I’m having is that when I try to use the tuples function it shorts me a 16th or an 8th note worth of beats at the end of that measure. So if I try a measure of 12 8th note triplets the last note is split into a 16th that straddles the barline and kicks a tied 16th note into the next measure. I have a similar problem when I try quarter notes using the tuples function. I never had that problem when I utilized that function from the tool bar but my screen isn’t tall enough any longer so that I can operate it from there. It used to be just below the ties toggle but I can only see the top half of the ties toggle. The tuplet is the one just below that and it can’t be reached so I have to use the tools drop down menu to use it at all and I get this disturbing result.
I think the general rule was “Try to avoid using the actual Tuplet Tool”, and do it in Simple Entry."
A Finale expert, Mike Rosen, wrote this tutorial, which may be of help:
The main toolbar {Tuplet Tool} is a general tool for editing already existing tuplets.
Both the Simple Entry Tool and the Speedy Entry Tool have their own Tuplet (sub-)Tool for entering tuplets.
In the Simple Entry Tool, try Ctrl-9, or Alt-9 (I am not sure).
In the Speedy Entry Tool, try Ctrl-1, or Alt-1 (I am not sure).
I’m sorry, but this forum does not exist to sort out problems using Finale (even though folks here with experience are willing to help).
This discussion simply confuses Dorico users.
I’m not a moderator, but this is way off topic. Post on a Finale forum instead if you don’t mind.
There’s no reason you can’t run Dorico on your computer. What makes you think it is a big resource hog? Download a trial version and try.
Thanks for all the help gang! I’ll keep trying to get my computer skills up to snuff so I can work my way up to the upgrade product. It’s just hard for us old dogs (age 67) to learn new tricks.
I did download the Dorico right after the Finale ended support. I don’t have enough memory to run it currently and I asked people thar are actually in computer and internet jobs that know a lot more than I do. My inquiry of my problem was suggested and they implied I might insult someone for daring to ask for help here but I was desperate and under a deadline. I won’t bother you folks with my Finale problems. I aoplogize.
My fault for suggesting that it could be answered with here – Dorico did receive MakeMusic’s “mantle”, so to speak; and while there’s no obligation on Steinberg, many users here are former Finale heads who have made the transition.
There’s plenty of discussion of Finale and its ways round and about here. But I accept that lengthy usage discussions are best handled on the finaleforum dot com site.

Hey, I’m the new guy who was in a jam and took a shot and caught a break. The beef was legitimate to a point. I’ll need to learn from this group down the road so I just wanna fade away for now. It’s a great group!
Have you tried Dorico on your computer? You could try the free version – no risk. Small projects have worked ok for me on weak computers.
I didn’t realize a free version was available or maybe I’d have tried it out before buying in right away. My son in law is a musical genius and a computer expert but he played around with Dorico and didn’t like it, so I was a little skeptical because I’m not great with tech of any kind. But I really want to get a better machine before I use what I bought. That plan was delayed because I backed into a car leaving for tonight’s concert so I’m talking with body shops before I have the other driver file a claim. I’ve been a modern museum of mistakes lately.
