Make 1st track version name editable (feature request although probably more of an oversight)

We can edit track version names once we duplicate them or create new empty versions but Cubase doesn’t allow to change the 1st track version in the list.

Yes, there’s a workaround by duplicating the 1st version, changing the new version name and deleting the 1st version but it would be much simpler to edit the 1st track version name. I assum ethis is an oversight that can be fixed easily in an update.

That’s because before you create your 1st New Version the Track has zero Versions. Nothing exists to name or rename.

But even after you’ve created your second track version, it won’t allow you to edit the name of the first version that then exists, only subsequent track version names. I use the track names to note what processing was done on each eg. ‘Comp’d, tuned, bounced’ etc.

It let’s me rename any Version. What exactly are you doing step-by-step?

After making a new version, select the v1 in the version list and double click the name (v1) write the new name and click enter!

My apologies. It seems now that once I have have 2 versions, it does allow me to edit the name of the 1st version. It’s only when you have have only one version that you cannot rename it which would be handy as I would like to rename it a couple of times before duplicating eg. clip gained, then after tuning, ‘clip gained & tuned’.

It’s only a small thing to be honest but thank you for pointing out that I can change the version names from the main project window and not only the inspector window! I didn’t know that.
