Make parts independent of the conductor in engrave mode

Hello everybody,

I have a question about parts sheets. I am currently creating a score for several instruments with multiple sections (ABCDEF). The guitar plays almost the same thing throughout the entire song as a loop, while the other instruments play something different on each section. The tune is quite long so I’d like to avoid giving the guitar player many sheets pages of the same thing. I’d like to optimize it by creating some repeat sections on his part in engrave mode (without affecting the conductor), and so reduce the number of pages to print.

So is it possible to make the parts independent of the conductor once the score has been written, without affecting the conductor?

Or do I have to do a “save as” for each part to make them an independent file?

What I would do is duplicate the flow and then optimize the duplicate just for the guitar player. You can even remove all the other instruments, leaving just the guitar…

I’d probably create a duplicate Guitar that only has the one section. Don’t include it in the score, and don’t produce the ‘score’ guitar as a part.
