Although Wavelab is working on clip, it is still able to remember what type of marker to convert was chosen or to delete when it was previously opened and closed from these two menus

  1. Convert Marker Types
  2. Delete Markers

Can these settings also be made permanent/global?

  1. Auto Select Source
  2. In Place
  3. Unnamed File
  4. Named file
  5. In Selected Audio Range (markers to delete and change marker type - this setting works only when a portion of audio is selected)

This is already persistent. This can even be saved/restored as part of a render preset.

Settings that are contextual and that depend, for instance, on the presence of a selection or not, are not persistent by design.

In WL6, when rendering, if no area was selected, WL6 rendered the whole file.

Auto Select I think has to be on by default and has to be changed only when required or should not be there or shifted to preferences.

This was changed to avoid mistakes. It was too easy to have a hidden selection (because of zoom/scroll) and render that rather than the whole file.

This being said, making auto-select persistent, for the audio file rendering, could be considered.
