Make these measure numbers not clash with chords?

Is there a way to make these temporary measure numbers not clash with the chord symbols or to make them only appear every other staff?

I know I can press ~ to hide them but I’d rather not have to if there’s a better way.

Sorry, I misread your post. I leave my explanation attempt in case could be useful for other users:

Thos are only overlay numbers to help orientation. They will not be printed, so no need to worry about collisions. You can deactivate/acrivate them for Galley view but also for Page view, from menu View/Bar Numbers

Anyway:
you can shrink their size, editing the Paragraph Style Galley View Margin Labels (this will of course also affect the margin staff labels, though). Default is 8pt/Staff relative: experiment if you find more comfortable sizes and change to absolute if needed:

Another approach: if you want to deactivate them, you can use the system track instead, and then use the instruments filter to work on not too big number of staves to orientate.

this is super helpful. not a fix but a workaround that will at least get me by. thanks!

reporting back, making them much smaller made the chords always readable which was my main issue. thanks!
