I am in need of making horizontal text boxes vertical for a music font that produces instrument fingering graphics (specifically, clarinet and alt saxophone). The text works when typed out horizontally. For instruments likes clarinet and saxophone, you have to rotate them vertically.
I have tried vertical stacked text typing and that did not work. I also changed the font globally for vertical lines. That will work for one instrument, but since I can’t use different fonts for different vertical lines, it won’t work. I have tried to search and use google gemini for hours but I have not found a solution. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Wherever you got the font from, there is no vertical version? Could you ask them for one? they would rotate them so they work for you. It’s possible to edit the font itself, although it might be under copyright.
For only a few notes, you could open it in a vector/graphics program and rotate each there, export then import as a graphic, although I suspect if it is for education, you will want them to add in easily for various exercises as you progress.

(Sorry, I can’t help you. I’ve never tried to do anything like that. My best answer is to ask the maker of the font for a vertical version, since I’d expect such fingering images to always be vertical anyway. Or import them into Dorico as graphics rather than using the font directly.)
