Hi,
In the file I uploaded, I want to hide the trumpet and piano A staves starting on measure 18 on the full score.
I did set a manual staff visibility and I allowed staves of multi-staves instruments to be hidden.
What am I doing wrong? I cannot get this piano A staff to be hidden.
I am using Dorico Element.

Hi @Doomro and Welcome to the Dorico Community! I found (via the Library manager) that this option causes your issue:
And here the same option in Layout Options/Chords Symbols and Diagrams: change it to Above top staff for the desired layout:
The logic is of course that if your chords symbols are Between staves for grand staff instruments, Dorico prevents the staves to be hidden.

This is a pretty confusing behavior I think, it would be better to have a warning or something. Because right now it just doesn’t work and we have no idea of the conflict between both options.
The thing I would have expected is the chords to be above the staff if one is hidden and to be in between otherwise. This is the thing I want to do but I will have to select above and move them manually between when the two staves are displayed.
Also, if any Dorico member is reading that, I do think it would be great to have an option to put chords inside the F staff if there is no note that is played. It would be quite handy to create jazz leading sheets without too much overhead of moving each chord to the right place.
