Manual Staff Visibility?

If I set Manual Staff Visibility, the setting continues to be reflected in the next system as well. Is there a way to apply it only to the desired system?

I’m not sure what you mean by “backend system” but all you need to do is put another Manual Staff Visibly change at the next system. If you are frequently needing to reset your staff visibility to a particular combination, you can always copy/paste a particular change to wherever you like.

I have modified it to the next system.

Once an instrument is hidden, it remains hidden. Is there a way to restrict this behavior so that it only applies to the desired system and doesn’t change in the next system?

No, there isn’t.

As @DanielMuzMurray said above, for now, unfortunately, no. But it would indeed be a welcome improvement for future versions of Dorico, so that it doesn’t hide everything, including staves containing music.
Selecting the empty bars that we want to hide, then requesting that they be hidden, and hiding only those bars would save us a lot of time, rather than having to perform the hiding operation twice to achieve the desired result.

That’s right, since it affects things later on too, we have to keep checking.

One tip to avoid unexpected mistakes: input the ‘reset’ signpost first.
