Manually altering and resetting note velocities

Hi, I have 2 (sets of) questions about note velocities in Dorico 5:

1. Identifying and altering notes with manually set velocities
I believe (and have tested) that if I manually set velocities for one or more notes, then those velocities override other velocity settings, and my first questions are about identifying and re-setting these velocities if I want to:

  • Is there a way of easily identifying notes or regions that have manual velocity overrides? I can identify those as having been set in the Properties panel if I scan 1 note at a time. I can sometimes select a group of notes with some manually set and some not, and the panel will still indicate ‘velocity changed’. But with more than a few notes, no velocity property is displayed.
  • Is there a way of resetting these, apart from de-selecting this setting in the Properties panel 1 or 2 notes at a time?

2. The velocity transform tool works in some projects and not others
In the project I’m working in, if I select the velocity transform tool, the commands have no effect. In other projects, it’s fine - does anyone have suggestions as to why it might not be working? Some setting perhaps?

Many thanks

Select the notes and go to Play > Reset Playback Overrides.

Thank you - that solves one of my questions!
