Manually Saved Changes Are Lost After VST Live Crashes

Hi,

I have noticed a possible issue with project saving after VST Live crashes.

For example:

  1. I open an existing project.
  2. I make some changes.
  3. I manually save the project several times.
  4. VST Live later crashes.
  5. When I reopen the project, the changes made and saved during that session are missing.

The project appears to return to the state it was in when I first opened VST Live, even though I manually saved it multiple times before the crash.

It seems as though the saved project file is not fully committed or updated until VST Live is closed normally.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? This is concerning because even manually saved changes may be lost after a crash.

You probably talk about local settings. Those are saved when you exit the app.

Some settings (such as Actions and Shortcuts, Connections…) are saved both locally, and with a project. When you start VST Live, those settings are applied which were active when you left the app the last time (successfully, of course). When you load a project, project settings override (and are thus saved to local settings when you exit again).

Also please, if VST Live crashes, please send crash reports! Stability is our No. 1 priority, so we need your help if it crashes nevertheless, thanks.
