manually shifting HALF or WHOLE rests in engrave mode
When using the ‘rest pos.’ spinner control to move a half (minim) or whole (semibreve) rest up or down, the control should be restricted to only even numbers.
Shifting by a single step, swaps rest type from one to the other.

Moving by single steps is useful for rests that are outside the staff.

Good point. Thanks Richard. It seems to be ONLY useful outside the staff!
Within the staff the swapping of types is still a problem.
Cheers
I never thought much about it since I always put them on even positions, but if the horizontal line is not a ledger line but instead a part of the rest symbol, why does the left rest lack the “line”?
This looks incorrect to me,
And I would suggest that rests always use even positions on the staff, and as an option in Engraving Options, have a “Always use even rest positions” option, even for positions outside of the staff.
One thing that is ‘annoying’ with this particular rest’s horizontal “line” is that when it is placed inside the staff, it does not draw the line (which is logical in some “efficiency” sense and to better fit with various staff line widths), but if you postprocess the music in say Illustrator, and want to remove the staff lines, there is no longer a horizontal “line” for the rest. It requires some “creativity” to restore it to its proper look, which is time-consuming.
