Map Controls on M-Audio Pro 88 to control shuttle

I just got a M-AUDIO Wavestation Pro 88 and I’ve connected it via MIDI (not USB) and now I’m trying to figure out if I can assign shuttle buttons on the Pro 88 to control CUBASE’s shuttle. Anyone already do this? Can someone point me in the right direction?

TIA,
Don

Hi and welcome,

Yes, you can.

Open Devices > Device Setup. On the left-top side, click to + button to add Generic Remote Device.

In the Generic Remote Device, select the MIDI Input, and click Apply. Then on the right-side, click Learn. Select the 1st slot in the upper sheet (Fader 1), and move the knob (or press the button) on your hardware. Do the same for 2nd, 3rd… line in the upper part. Now, you have MIDI CCs assigned. Rename the Control Name (double-click in the upper sheet) by the function name, you want to use.

In the lower sheet, set the function, you want to control, for every single line. For example, if you change the original “Fader 1” to “Play”, set Device > Transport; Category > Device; Action > Start. Do this for every single line.

If you want to control Shuttle, use Device > Transport; Category > Device; Action > Rewind (or FastRewind)/Forward (FastForward); or ShuttleRw/ShuttleFw, where you can set the speed (for example 1x-8x or 1/2x-1/8x).

You’re a ROCKSTAR Martin! Thanks!!!
