Mapping Arturia KeyLab and nanoKontrol2 directly to plugin parameters

Hello everyone,

I am trying to set up my Arturia KeyLab and Korg nanoKontrol2 controllers in Cubase so that I can use their buttons and knobs directly inside VST plugins.

At the moment, Cubase only lets me control plugin parameters through Quick Controls or the Parameter Mapping panel, but this feels limiting. What I would really like is a way to map my hardware controls straight to the plugin’s own interface (for example, a knob in the synth GUI) without having to go through Quick Controls or the generic parameter list.

Has anyone managed to configure this successfully? Is there a workflow, script, or MIDI Remote setup that allows direct mapping from hardware to plugin GUI controls?

Any guidance or step‑by‑step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The concept is the following:

  • Track ID A
  • Slot number B (the plug-in)
  • Parameter index C (the parameter).

So if you change the order of the tracks, it doesn’t work anymore. If you change the slot of the given plug-in, it doesn’t work anymore.
