Hello!
I’m a relatively new Cubase user, and I’ve just finished setting up the foundation for some expression maps. These are triggered by keyswitches in the VST. I would like to map the buttons on my Launchkey MINI to event values so I can easily toggle on my articulations. It’s great that Cubase automatically detects this keyboard, but all of the trigger buttons are mapped to Cubase functions and are unable to insert a MIDI note. I’d prefer to not have to use midi inserts and a bunch of channel routing to manually map these buttons to note values, so I just wanted to see if anyone knew how to configure this with relative ease. Thanks!
Hi,
Make a new MIDI Remote Mapping Page. Unassign the given pad/button (so it’s not assign to any function). In this case Cubase passes the MIDI Message sent by pressing the pad/button into the track.
Thank you for your reply. My new problem is that the default MIDI message from the pad is within the playable range of some instruments, therefore not able to trigger the keyswitches. Is there a way to map the pad directly to a specific note?
I think I have found the solution by looking more into Novation and downloading their ‘components’ software. I got the KeySwitches working, but I would like for them to show up in the articulation lane. Is there any way to set it up so those pitches get converted/show up in the articulations/dynamics area?
Hi,
You can change the MIDI Notes of the Pads on the hardware. Be aware, the MIDI Remote functionality will be lost then.
