Marcato accent playback

Hi everyone - I have just encountered a problem playing back notes with Marcato signs on them. In playback only the beginning of the note is heard. Notes without the Marcato sign are playing back for their full length. This is the third flow of a big project - the first two flows worked correctly (and still do when I go back to them). I must have changed a setting somewhere, but not sure what! I am not relying on playback for making a recording, just for checking that everything is correct, so I don’t need anything fancy.

Strange since Playback options are global. Library->Playback Options->Timing->Note durations.
Did you try to reapply the playback template?
Otherwise. Could you share the file? You can pm it to me if you prefer. I only have Noteperformer, though.

Thanks very much Jesper - here is the file and a recording of the passage - I have removed the other two movements which are working normally.

They play back fine here with Noteperformer.

I can confirm that the file plays the notes short here too, and indeed if I enter the notes myself. (I don’t have noteperformer, only the default Dorico sounds.) But I don’t have a solution.

I haven’t noticed it before, because I think I have only used marcato in big band scores, where I want them to be played short. (But timing in playback options doesn’t seem to change anything.)

I suspect it may be a limitation of the Iconica Sketch library that Marcato is a ‘short’?

If you use one of the HSO playback templates instead, it will work.

Are the notes equally long in the other flows?

Yes - in some cases longer. It’s a transcription of Mahler 1 and the marcato sign seems to be his favourite accent. I’ve arranged the 2nd and 3rd mvts with no problems. This mvt is Flow 3 in the same file. It’s all very strange!
