Margins change when printing from Dorico

Whenever I print from Dorico, the margins get increased. This happens with my printer at home and my printer at work. It doesn’t happen when I export to PDF.

Are you printing to the same size paper that you have defined for the layout in Layout Options?

Yes.

Maybe make sure that “Custom Scale” is set to 100%, rather than “Fit to Paper”, which can reduce things to 97% or so. (In the Print mode settings.)

That second screen shot looks like you’re exporting to pdf. Does it still say letter when you’re printing to a printer?

I figured it out. There are two overlapping things that are messing with my margins. First, the photocopy machine that I print to where I work adds to the margins no matter what I do. Trying to fix it, I changed the custom scale to 100%, which changed the margins at home. I just need to print at home with fit to paper selected. Thank you for helping me trouble shoot this.

That printer/photocopy machine is not configured to print at 100%. I find that very often, and it’s a pain when you want to print music.

My university uses a network printing driver called Papercut. Because I let my IT know about this, they were able to get the scaling problem fixed.
