Is there a way to add some kind of marker or marker like decoration onto track events?
Let say that there’s a point in the event that is of particular importance. When I move the event, it’s too easy to loose track of where that point was. My workaround has been to cut at those points, but that’s far from an ideal workflow.

The closest to markers for events is probably “regions”.
Or alternatively, cut the events as you have been doing and then combine the now multiple events into parts.

You might try Grouping the Event & Marker which I think will retain their timing alignment.
That would be the solution but markers cannot be grouped.
Regions are probably the closest to an event marker system that Cubase has.
Regions are not markers for the event but rather for the clip but that can work as well. I think they are only visible in the Sample Editor and in the Pool.
you could create a macro to cut the region and turn event to part, even colorize.
