Mask Overlay Appears Misaligned in 3D Perspective View

In the perspective 3D view of Steinberg SpectraLayers PRO 12, I’ve noticed that the mask overlay does not always appear to sit correctly on the spectrogram surface.

When the view is tilted, the spectrogram is rendered as a true height-based 3D representation, but the mask seems to remain in a separate 2D overlay space. As a result, there can be a visible mismatch in perspective, making it look as though the mask is slightly offset or not properly attached to the spectral terrain.

From a user point of view, it would be very helpful if the mask could be rendered in a way that is depth-aware (for example, using proper surface projection or depth buffering), so that it visually adheres to the spectrogram surface in 3D space.

This would make the 3D view much more intuitive and consistent, especially when working with detailed selections where spatial accuracy is important.

At the moment, it is difficult to properly verify masks in the 3D mode, as they can appear significantly displaced, almost as if they are positioned at the wrong depth rather than sitting on the lowest point of the spectral surface.

I believe this is because it’s not an accurate representation of the stereo field.
