While I agree with the majority here,
I will give a tidbit.

The days of mixing down to 2 channels and mastering that are pretty much archaic.

Stems are now used and are a preferred mode of delivery to mastering techs.
Sending 4-6 stems to the mastering tech is not unheard of.

Reason is, This allows them more control of what gets more compression, dynamics…etc.

While you can still send a single 2 channel file to be mastered, the results from sending multiple stems are not only superior but it will allow the Mastering tech to get it closer to how you want it to sound.
