Mastering Process Frustration.

The youtube sample you posted contains a lot more reverb than yours…
It also has a lot less bottom end than yours (especially in the “proximity effect” freq range - 180 - 200 Hz - too much content in this freq range will cause muddiness) When things are sounding muddy, I often find that a little dip somewhere in this area will clear things up a lot.

To get a similar reverb in your track, you’d need to add it in your mix, not in mastering, so that you can EQ the reverb return. Take away as much low freq content as you can get away with – this will help separate the reverb from the source sound. Also use a bit of predelay on the reverb too, to help separate the two.
