Editing a score. I’m replacing notes in one bar. When I go to make changes, the bar now acts like a 3/4 bar instead of 4/4. I don’t see any place where I changed the meter, and the flow says it’s 4/4, but it won’t let me insert a full 4/4 measure of notes. Learning Dorico (after Finale) so the program is still new to me.
If you have signposts visible (View > Signposts), are there any that indicate some hidden meter change? Was this an XML import? Can you post a cut-down version of your score (maybe just a few bars) that demonstrates the issue?
I’ll check the signposts to see if I mistakenly changed something. It’s an original chart, started here in Dorico 5.
Just discovered, in the middle of the measure, there is an 8th note rest. By editing that to by 2 16th notes, I could then erase the first 16th note, and add the notes I needed to complete the bar! Maybe I was miscounting? (Thx, btw)
Make sure you don’t have Insert mode when you’re deleting stuff!

Thanks! After almost 30 years of Finale, the adjustment is “fun” to say the least. And of course, the first project you have is on a deadline…
