Hello, I have a piece of music where the publisher has requested that we renumber a grouping of measure numbers and add a suffix letter “b” to the right of the number. I have figured out how to do the renumbering and change the rehearsal number including adding the suffix (Properties panel) but I don’t know how do add the “b” suffix to the renumbered measures. Here’s what I have:
and here’s what I need (note we changed numbers to centered in a previous edit):
Is there a way to do this in Dorico? The final measure is 50 so we only have about 8 bars affected (renumbered 43-50) for both score and parts.
Thank you.
Right click, Bar Numbers > Add Bar Number Change.
If you need to resume the regular numbering at some point, add another bar number change and use the Continue Primary option. (Or Primary with a new start number specified, depending on your needs.)

Thank you for the help. That solved it. Since each subsequent number is followed by “b” and not “c” “d” “e”, etc. I guess you do need to manually adjust each number to make sure the subordinate stays at 2. Glad I only had 8 numbers to adjust! But that is indeed a solution.
Much appreciated!
Ah, sorry – I didn’t see that detail of your numbering and thought it was a standard subordinate sequence.
No problem. You led me in the right direction. Thanks again.
