Am I crazy or is the option to select the base location in media bay is gone in 9.5? There used to be a “Use Current Selection as Base Location” in the settings tab but it’s gone.
Am I missing something?

You are right, because the settings is not about the Locations anymore, but about the File Browser. Different philosophy behind.
I love that there’s more of a standard file browser and folder based engine in media bay now. I don’t know why that would prevent the option to select a base location though. It’s even more appropriate if you ask me. I prefer the location based browser where I can store my content and presets.
This option has been renamed to “Show Only Selected Folder”. It hasn’t been removed.
