Cubase 14 - When I open Media Bay and then search it generates a list but the first time I click on an item in the list the line blanks and then resets without doing anything (i.e. doesn’t select the track, or audition the track, or allow me to drag it into the project).
The next time I click a track it behaves normally (selects and auditions track or allows me to drag it into the project). It behaves normally until the next search, after which the same problem occurs.
This wasn’t a problem in C13 and I’m surprised that no one else seems to have mentioned this, which makes me wonder if it’s just me! Not a biggie as it doesn’t stop anything but surprisingly annoying.
I noticed it on 14.0.5 but thought I’d wait for the first patch release. I now have 14.0.10 and the problem remains (very happy the Search Media key command is working again though!)
I think I have the same behavior. I search for a ‘word’, I get results… and then if I click on a file in the results, it seems to glitch and do the search again.
ALSO… I no can longer use pageup/pagedown in the results. This is a bit of a drag. For another thread maybe…
Are you on Mac or Windows? Could you please make a short video screen recording? I know, it looks like easy to replicate, but maybe there is a detail, which we don’t see from the simple description.
Just playing with it now- when I start typing a list starts to generate. If I click on an item in the list without hitting Enter I have the problem. This is possibly as Kearley said, that it then re-does the search after clicking on the line (although just the line goes blank and glitches). Once focus is in the list it works as expected.
However, if I type, watch the list generate, press Enter and then click an item in the list it works as expected (no glitching). So committing the search appears to be key.
In C13 it worked either way (I’ve re-tested since).
If that’s not reproducible I will try and find time to record a video later.
Can confirm this also on Windows 10 here, Cubase 14.0.10.
In either the Media Bay window or rack, if I search for a term I will immediately get some results appearing, but when I click on any sample in the results field to preview, that item will blank out for an instant and the entire list will reload again as if I had executed a new search. This only happens the first time. After the reload the list operates as normal, until a new search is executed.
