I have been through the manual and the keyboard shortcuts menu, but I can’t find any way to use my keyboard to adjust the number of stars a Media Bay has in it’s rating column. Is there any way to adjust this without the mouse?
Hi,
Unfortunately, there are no Key Commands to set the Ratings 1-5 in MediaBay.
Please, add the optional feature-request tag to your post.
Seems a waste of time creating a key Command for this, its a very simple click n drag method.
Works perfect as well because you can add stars to a batch by selecting multiple listings in the Media Bay.
Hi,
I can see the value in the Key Command option, here.
Thank you! Feature Request tag added!
In my 40 year history with computers, I have found that it is always best to offer a keyboard shortcut option whenever possible.
In this case, the Media Bay has a number of keyboard-centric tasks and being able to keep my hands on the keyboard without having to switch to the mouse would improve workflow.
Usually, we decide to rate a sound while browsing. But even if we select multiple sounds which we happen to know that should be rated something, a shortcut could still be used.
Record is a very simple click too. So is Play. So are many other functions. Not all of us like the mouse - not all of us like the keyboard. The developers can make both sides happy. In the case of rating, I wouldn’t prefer hold/drag over a simple keystroke. Think of it while browsing sounds. I always use up/down arrows. I never ever use the mouse, because it’s simply more tiring for my wriest when we’re talking browsing hundreds of presets. And then I want to rate. Should I leave the keyboard and touch the mouse? Why? Just because shortcuts are not implemented for that? Well, they should be.
