Media Bay tagging - what's the point if You can't migrate to another system?

I want to tag, rate and organise favorites and synchronise it between my two work computers - a PC desktop and a Mac laptop.

Apparently there is no way of migrating the mediabay tags and favorites between computers and between systems? Or is there - if Yes please advise:

  • how to migrate the MEDIA BAY tags between different operating systems and between different OS installations?
  • how to migrate the favorites between different operating systems and between different OS installations?

I don’t mean the cubase profile or preferences - I mean the MEDIA BAY organisational structure.

If it cannot be migrated at all then what’s the point of even bothering to use the media bay tagging and favorites section is you’re going to lose it on system reinstall or moving library to another computer?

Best!

Hi, in the folder (Windows)
C:\Users[your User Name]\AppData\Local\Steinberg\Steinberg MediaBay Server , you’ll find the database file mediabay3.db. You should transfer this too.

On a Mac, the location is probably ~/Library/Preferences/Steinberg MediaBay Server/ . Not sure about that though, since it’s been a long time I had to do it on my Mac here.
