MediaBay Favorites — any way to trigger or recall them via hotkey or Stream Deck?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using MediaBay for many years and have built a huge personal library of sounds, including a lot of ClipPackages.
Switching to other tools like Soundly, Soundminer or Sononym isn’t really an option — mainly because ClipPackages aren’t readable by any other software, and my entire library structure has been built around them over the years. Rebuilding or transferring everything manually would be simply unrealistic.

When I started working not only on feature films but also on a large number of TV series, I realized how much time I was losing because of MediaBay’s Favorites workflow.
In series work, many sound categories repeat from episode to episode — footsteps, doors, ambiences, cloth, etc. — and having to constantly reopen the Favorites dropdown slows everything down a lot. The order of Favorites also changes whenever I create or rename one, which makes it even more inconsistent.

Over the span of a 10-episode season, this adds up to a huge amount of lost time just from navigating MediaBay.

What I’d really love is a way to open a specific Favorite directly, ideally through a keyboard shortcut or Stream Deck button, for example:

F1 → open Favorite “Footsteps”

F2 → open “Impacts”

F3 → open “Doors”
and so on.

I’ve tried looking into macros, PLE, and scripting, but it seems that MediaBay Favorites aren’t exposed to any of these systems.

Has anyone managed to find a workaround — maybe via a hidden command, Steinberg API, or some third-party automation tool that can trigger Favorites?

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.
I’m sure many long-time MediaBay users with ClipPackage libraries face the same limitation.

Best Regards
