Why not be able to do a Logical Search within an Attribute filter / vice versa?
Secondly as it stands, if you switch to Attributes after logical, it removes all your Logical search fields.
Why not just have both Logical and Attributes available on one page, instead of two exclusive tabs? And give each a total bypass so users can temporarily disable their filters without removing them.
From what I understand, Steinberg provided the “Attributes” tab for users who want to get fast result based on frequent properties, with just some clicks, while the “Logical” tab was for a) deeper searches and b) some cases of auto-keying from external apps.
That being said, I have zero objections to this FR. In fact, I already have an FR a bit different, reported to Steinberg: A way to directly alter the vstPreset in an instrument or fx slot, using MIDI Remote. The reasoning behind this, is that since mediaBay is a database, we can always query it from the “outside” and build apps with setups like the one you describe, without even waiting for internal updates. Should be a win-win
