Merge Middle Eighths Into Quarter in 6/8 Time?

I’m doing a band transcription of the 1st movement of Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor, 1st movement, and I’ve run into a tiny problem. In bar 54 (rehearsal letter C), Dvořák takes a 6/8 bar and subdivides it into 3 quarter notes. As you can see from the graphic slice I’ve taken from my Dorico 6 transcription, Dorico doesn’t want to let the middle two eighth notes merge into a quarter note. I’ve dug through everything and can’t find a setting or a property that will let this happen. Is it possible to somehow force this? Please advise, and thanks for your help!

(P.S. - Sorry about the spacing between staves - this is preliminary and will be fixed before release.)

In such a circumstance one can either add a hidden time signature of 3/4 for that specific measure or one can use Force Duration, choose the first eighth note and press 5 and then 6 ( to first change the tied eighths to one eighth and then change that eighth to a quarter note).

  1. Select the notes.
  2. Press O.
  3. Press 5.
  4. Press 6.

(Make sure Insert mode is OFF before starting!)
