I installed MetaPiano by Sampleson. Was hoping to try it in Dorico. Metapiano is a modelled piano in vst3 format (and AU). But Dorico does not see the vst3 nor offer it as a selection (other vst3s third party work fine).
I verified the MetaPiano vst3 is in the proper folder (Mac). MuseScore found the instrument without issue (as did Logic Pro, although that’s maybe looking at the AU version)
I tried the Clear Audio Engine Cache and Reset Audio Engine Data in settings a few times, tried restarting Dorico and the laptop a few times. No luck.
Please do Help > Create Diagnostic Report and attach the resulting zip file here. My colleague @Ulf should be able to read the runes and tell you what is happening.
Hi @vining.clavier_0c , thanks for the data.
MetaPiano is blacklisted with you, because - as it has the look - it is only built for Intel64Bit architecture. I suppose if you run Dorico in Rosetta mode, it will detect it and work . Please try that out. (Right click on the Dorico 5.app under Application → GetInfo → set the checkbox for Rosetta)
And by the way, contained in your diagnostics are also 3 crash files of the audio engine. Those 3 are identical and they always crash in DecentSampler. You might want to report that to the makers of DecentSampler. There is nothing on the audio engine side that we can do about that crash.
Yes, enabling Rosetta fixed the problem thank you. MetaPiano is listed and works. Not sure if there’s any disadvantage to enabling Rosetta for Dorico but it seems to perform the same.
I’ll report to DecentSampler authors of the crashes it is causing.
