Metronome is always on when starting a new project

Hi,
For some reason, the metronome is always on when I start a new project and I have to turn it off manually every time. Does anyone have any idea of why this could be and how I can solve it? Thank you.

I’m not behind my computer now, but I think you can set a preference in playback options click. Ctrl shift P

Thanks for the reply, but as far as I can see, there’s no option. I see Beat subdivisions, sound, pitch and velocity and count-in, but no option to turn it off by default.

And in the preferences? Ctrl,
Categorie Play?

Otherwise I don’t know. I think it should be off by default.

I don’t any setting there either. I wonder if I reinstalling is my only option?

Don’t reinstall.
We will find the preference setting for you.
In the mean time, this old thread might help:

It is interesting though, that it seems impossible to find this through Dorico’s webhelp. Searching for “disable metronome” or “deactivate metronome” will result in hundreds of results on metronome marks…

That did help, thank you very much! I tried this method and it seems to have worked.

I’m glad I didn’t have to reinstall anything. Thank you again.
