Metronome trick to make step entry way easier

Maybe this is a given for the pros out there, but I just came across this today and WOW is it good. It’s a method for step entering notes:

  1. Choose the smallest note length you want to enter.
  2. In one hand, tap the pulse.
  3. In the other hand, enter the notes.
  4. Select the notes, then use filter->select bottom note to select the pulse notes, and delete.
  5. Select the remaining notes, then use edit duration->extend to next note to fill in the gaps.

No more constantly switching between different note values, advancing rests, etc.

I saw it in this MOTU DP video, and the same technique works great in Dorico.
