Back in the day I used to use PowerToys, then it seemed to get abandoned with the release of Win 10.
Lo and behold!
Today I discover it has been updated and works with Win 10 and Win 11.
Too many tweaks to the OS to list, but my current favourite is the ability to move a window by left-clicking+ALT, anywhere in the window and dragging - not just the toolbar.
Right-click and ALT enables window resizing without grabbing an edge.
Love it - been using it for years, since some point on Win 10.
I use the keyboard manger to change the co-pilot key to Win (Right), Caps Lock into Enter and add F keys replacing print screen etc, and my other big fave is Fancy Zones
Fancy Zones does look interesting.
There’s a whole heap of tweaks there.
I’m pleased to have found it again. (Entirely by accident. I clicked a bookmark in my browser and I got a 404 error, with a list of “Pages I might Like” - PowerToys was on of them.)
I like using fancy zones for child dialogue windows. I made a zone that’s the center of my screen and about 75% the size. So I hold shift on the file/open boxes and drag them in there and they center and nice and big.
I use the ‘Always On Top’ feature, with a hotkey. Very useful. The color picker, but rarely. And the File Locksmith. Sometimes you gotta know.

But also Listary for piggybacking child dialogue boxes. It has other handy uses but that’s the one I keep it around for.
For example, let’s say I want to upload a pic to this forum. I click the ‘Upload’ button and up pops the windows file dialogue. But it always defaults to the last used folder. But I want to go to my ‘Forums’ folder, where the pic is. So see the Listary box, I pointed to it in this pic. Just start typing and there it is. Press enter and I’m at that location. Cherry ![]()

And Void Tools Everything for quick searches.
And Binary Fortress - Display Fusion for auto-resizing windows. Somewhat similar to powertoys - fancy zones. It has triggers: for example I make my windows notepad++ open to the right half of my screen every time, without me having to move it every time.
