How about you just click the microtonal accidental like all the others? Why these hidden obtuse steps? Why give the impression the software is malfunctioning needlessly?
I get where you’re coming from, but the problem is that the microtonal accidentals can’t be used until you have told Dorico that you are now working in 24-EDO (or whatever tonality system it is). It is awkward, but it’s also flexible, because it allows you to freely move between different tonality systems within the same piece, indeed even to have different tonality systems on different instruments at the same time.
