I had a few petite blippettes, so I got to know that MIDI 2 is rolling out now - backwards compatible and a few improvements ot MIDI 1. I dare not say more but it is above my pay grade.
However, if your interested in checking if you have already got it, you need a tool, and on the same page is further INFO. There was an issue with MIDI arriving slightly later, FYI. No idea futher than this. Here is the tool.

I don’t wanna piss on your parade but we are discussing this stuff heavily for some weeks in this forum already. Mainly the issues, of course. Pete from Microsoft is very active, trying to help and gather feedback.
