Midi contoller plugin or interface

I am looking for a way to use a simple x-y controller to control various plugins within Cubase, ideally this could be a part of the ‘on-screen keyboard’ but if it was a plugin that would work too it just means a little extra routing.
Sometimes a mouse is just easier to use than a controller.
Easier to configure than a hardware device, easy access to various layouts and configurations.
Is this possible with any internal Cubase feature without loading something like halion?

Hi,

If I understand you right, you have a x-y joystick on your hardware and you want to use it to control some plug-ins parameters.

You can assign it to the Quick Controls or the Focus Quick Controls. Then it’s easy to assign the parameter per track or per plug-in.

Hi Martin,
No I would like to use my mouse to use a GUI of a XY controller within Cubase, possibly as a plugin.

(To me it makes sense for it to be a part of the on-screen keyboard function that is activated with alt-k)

I had this feature suggestion that could include a larger scope of change to address several related workflow and interface.
A more comprehensive feature suggestion:

  1. Redesign VST Rack and remove the Quick Controls from that location.
  2. Create a new dedicated quick controls section with expanded customization. (Quick Controls can now be any shape like sliders, XY pads, or drum triggers.)
  3. add on-screen keyboard improvements to this new section

On the other hand, why not adapt the Remote Midi Controllers section to be able to control various VST’s or create Generic Templates with various Midi Controllers?
