Midi Device Panel Editor - Context Menu missing in Cubase 15

I have still quite some midi device panels to control my external gear.

Since I upgraded to CB15 I noted that the context menu in the panel editor is broken. I mean the menu that usually appears when you do a right click on an object to control position and alignment. It seems there is no other menu option to access this function.

The only workaround so far is, to use CB14 to create and edit the panel and the export and import back into CB15.

Is there a way to fix this?

I can confirm this bug, which effectively renders the MIDI Device Panel Editor unusable.

Repro:

  1. From the Studio menu, select More Options | MIDI Device Manager
  2. Install a device, if none already installed, and select it or any device
  3. Click Open Device and select the top-level node in the left-hand pane
  4. Click Add Panel, and click OK
  5. Drag any object onto the panel, click on it to select it and then right-click

Result: nothing happens. A context menu should appear, but does not.

This is what it looks like in 14:

Hi @lirum123 and welcome to the forum!

To get the attention of Steinberg, you can open a ticket via your “MySteinberg” account, but you can point back to this forum post for the repro.

I opened a ticket, will keep you posted on the response!

According to Steinberg, the problem is known and planned to be fixed in the next maintenance update 15.0.20

Seeing as the release of Nuendo 15 is just around the corner, hopefully this will also mean we also get Cubase 15.0.20!
