Midi dropping out randomly

I’m on a MacBook M1 Pro -

Hi, I recently did the update in Dorico 6 and I’ve been randomly having dropped midi since while inputting. I don’t use playback much atm because I’m just inputting, so I don’t know if audio is also being lost. It gets resolved if I restart Dorico or turn my controller on and off. It MIGHT happen when I leave the program while turning pages on a PDF on another screen that I’m copying from - and then back to the screen with Dorico. Though I’ve done this all the time in the past with no problems. I’ve swapped cables and plugged into other

ports, maybe it’s the controller - but after reading some other posts, I have seen some instances being reported. I created a diagnostic - hoping that helps. Thank you!

No idea how large your files are, but could auto-backup be causing the interruptions?

Hmm. Well it’s hard to say. I don’t think the files are very big. I’m mostly working on piano/vocals, not orchestration. It seems to be if I leave the screen, or if it sits with no use for too long. But it’s not very repeatable right now. Just annoying! And a good reason to procrastinate!

I hadn’t assigned playback templates to this project - and I went ahead and did that. So far I haven’t had the midi drop…so maybe it was that. I’m going to say it is and hope! Thanks!
