MIDI Editor Woes In Cubase Pro 12

When I open the MIDI Editor and select a part it does not play a sound. How do I get that back? The only way I can hear a sound is by clicking the keys on the keyboard on the left-hand side. I’d like to be able to drag the part and hear the sound.

I believe what you’re looking for is Acoustic Feedback.
Look for this icon in the MIDI Key Editor Toolbar:
