Midi Export Help

I would like to export several midi tracks within a project to a standard midi file. Everything works fine except during export Cubase changes all the midi channels of the different tracks to midi channel one. I am using Cubase Studio 5.5.3. I have tried every option I could find but nothing seems to work. I would like to have the individual tracks retain the original midi channel. Seems like a simple enough task but I can’t figure it out. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks,

-Steve

Look to the MIDI File Export properties in Prefs.

Thanks for the fast reply,

Yes I have been tried the selections in the preferences midi export area. I currently have the following selected:
Export Automation
Export Inserts
Export Sends
Export Markers.

I am thinking I might need to select either
Export Inspector Patch or Export Inspector Volume/Pan but the are greyed out for some reason. Maybe that is not available on Cubase Studio?

I found the problem. When I was importing the midi file. Cubase was set to import the individual midi tracks to an instument track under midi preferences. Unchecking this option prior to importing the original midi file resoved my midi export issue.

Thanks
